Our most recent University Fair in Cairo was a standout event, and it’s safe to say it left a lasting impression!
Spanning three action-packed days, with four major events at the Intercontinental City Stars Hotel, hundreds of eager students walked through the doors, excited to explore their academic options abroad. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as students, university representatives, and the Global Study UK teams engaged in lively discussions.
A Global Showcase: 60+ Universities Represented
This year’s fair gave attendees a chance to explore education beyond borders!
This year's event brought together more than 60 prestigious universities from around the globe, ensuring a wide range of options for students with different budgets, grades, and aspirations. From A-Levels and foundation pathways to undergraduate and master’s programs, there was something for everyone, regardless of where they were on their academic journey. Representatives from universities in the UK, USA, Europe, and beyond answered the students’ burning questions, while many also took part in our live social media shows.
For those unable to attend the Fair in person, these virtual sessions ensured no one was missing out.
The live sessions offered valuable insights, and the representatives gladly told us everything about campus life, student support services, career opportunities, and even exciting new programs and campus expansions. Many universities highlighted their unique scholarship opportunities as well, providing crucial financial support to students who excel academically.
Students with a Vision
Egyptian students showed up in force, with most in their final year of high school, full with ambition and curiosity.
We spoke with many of them about their plans for the future, and picked up on some interesting trends. Unsurprisingly, fields like Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Engineering are amongst the top choices for the Egyptian youth, whilst interest in Business, Fashion, Arts, and Politics is also on the rise.
These young minds are clearly drawn to the diverse, multicultural environments offered by international universities. With their dreams and career plans at the forefront, their passion and determination were nothing short of inspiring.
Global Study UK Team: Guiding the Way
Ensuring the event was running smoothly, Global Study UK’s team was on the ground from start to finish.
Our counsellors from the Egyptian offices were busy assisting students, advising them on key considerations for their applications, and even catching up with those already in the process of applying.
The Admissions team, well-versed in the Egyptian education system, provided guidance on entry requirements and next steps. First-time attendees were offered the opportunity to register on the spot – setting them on an exciting path that could lead to their arrival at an international university next year. The Visa team was also on hand to provide step-by-step guidance on the application process, ensuring students were well-prepared for the journey ahead.
For those exploring destinations beyond the UK, Global Student Admissions (GSA) specialists shared their extensive knowledge of universities worldwide, helping students navigate their options.
A Fun Twist: The Ping Pong Tournament
In addition to the Fair’s academic excitement, we wanted to add a bit of fun to the event.
With the support of our partner Kaplan, we organized a Ping Pong Tournament that inspired some friendly competition amongst everyone participating. Students from local schools competed for a chance to win a £5000 scholarship for their school, courtesy of Kaplan.
Even after the tournament ended, the ping pong tables remained a hotspot for students to unwind, socialize, and take on new challenges. Some even attempted to beat our reigning Ping Pong champion from the London office Algerian Beast himself, Mehdi Toumi!
The tournament wasn’t just limited to students; local school counsellors joined in, adding to the light-hearted, yet competitive spirit of the day.
